Submission Guidelines
How to submit an article
Simply email your article to district14newsletter@yahoo.com or hand it to one of your friendly editors or your Group Representative.
Deadline
Because the newsletter is planned to be published monthly, all articles for next month's newsletter must be submitted in final form by the 15th of the current month. New or revised articles arriving after the cutoff date will be included in a future issue. The deadline is especially important if you are submitting an article that is time sensitive. For example, if you want to submit an article about the Sixth Step and would like ti to appear in the June issue, we would need the article with final revisions no later than May 15th.
Format The District 14 newsletter is planned to start off as a monthly publication of 2-4 pages. There is no limmit on the number of articles you may submit, but depending on the available space/number of submissions, the editors may only publish on of your articles per month, or we may be forced to delay one or more of your articles until a following month. We may also collect and hold your article for inclusion in a future newsletter with a specific theme.
Articles should be around 200-250 words. You are welcome to write longer articles, but depending on space, we possibly may make suggestions for shortening the article, suggest splitting the article into parts, or edit your article to fit into the space available. We will attempt to notify you if fitting a longer article into the newsletter is a concern.
The editors reserve the right to fix spelling and grammatical errors, but otherwise we will not add or change words in your article. If changes to content are required because of major structural issues (run-on sentences, sentence fragments, missing words, etc.), we will return the piece to you with suggestions for editing.
Credit
We will publish your article(s) with a "by-line" consisting of your first name and last initial. If you wish to have your article published as "Anonymous", please let us know at the time of submission.

By submitting your article, you are giving Al-Anon District 14 non-exclusive permission to use your submission in any print and/or electronic publications of the District. We will keep your permission "on the books" so if we need to re-run your submission sometime in the future, we'll be able to do so. You maintain copyright of your own works.
