![]() Welcome to the Web Site supported by the Al-Anon and Alateen Groups in Northern California On this group of pages, we have listed the Al-Anon and Alateen literature that is available in Braille, cassette tapes and large print type. Some cassettes and large print books are distributed by Al-Anon Family Groups, Inc. and may be available locally. To find where to obtain literature, including large print and cassettes from Al-Anon or Alateen in Northern California, click here. Al-Anon Family Groups, Inc has given permission to reproduce its literature in Braille, on cassette tapes and in large print to agencies serving the blind throughout the United States and Canada. Each agency listed has its own prices, policies and procedures for obtaining Al-Anon and Alateen literature. Please be sure to inquire about and follow the particular requirements of the agency that is contacted. Listing these agencies on our web site is not an endorsement of these agencies. Rather it is our hope that literature becomes available to the greatest number of families affected by the disease of alcoholism. Not all Al-Anon/Alateen Conference-Approved Literature has been transcribed into Braille, cassette tapes or large type. If a title does not appear on this listing, we suggest that you contact an agency serving the visually impaired in your area. In turn, the agency will contact the World Service Office to request permission to transcribe copyrighted Al-Anon literature. By doing so, you will help others because your request can increase the amount of Al-Anon/Alateen literature that is available for the visually impaired. If a private agency is interested in producing Al-Anon materials in special formats, they may contact the World Service Office and request permission. When you request materials in special formats through the National Library Service, the amount of available Al-Anon/Alateen literature increases and other members with special needs will benefit from your request.
